Is the cadastral value of your property higher than the market value?

The land registry authorities periodically review the cadastral value of your property. The new value is used as a basis for calculating various payments related with the property, including your property tax (IBI).

Errors often occur when calculating the cadastral value and it can sometimes exceed the market value of a property. If this is true in your case, and depending on the characteristics of each case, your can demand a new review and therefore reduce the amount of tax payable.
